SWNS Contributor appearance fee agreement 

Contributors (you/Contributor) may be offered the opportunity to earn payments from Appearance fees. Appearance fees means money paid to contributors by South West News Service Limited (SWNS/we/us) in return for providing additional interviews, assisting with in-depth magazine articles or appearing in TV  broadcasts.  

1. Agreement

1.1 By giving permission on the appearance fee tick box, you grant SWNS the exclusive right to approach media organisations on your behalf to find out which appearance fees we can negotiate for you. This may include, but is not limited to, approaching newspapers, websites, magazines, radio, television shows, documentaries, and book publishers.  

1.2 SWNS agrees to negotiate appearance fees on a project-by-project basis and will only proceed on any project with your consent. 

1.3 If you are approached directly by any other media organisation you agree to refer them to your designated contact at SWNS. 

1.4 You agree to help with the creation of material to support your appearance including being photographed, providing additional photos, being interviewed and joining a videocall unless you choose to remain anonymous. 

1.5 SWNS agrees to give you a full read-back of any magazine copy we create or, when applicable, will arrange a read-back from the publication that writes an article. 

2. Payment 

2.1 If the Contributor agrees to participate in an appearance the Contributor and SWNS shall agree a Fee payable to the Contributor for the Contributor’s additional involvement. The Fee includes (and will not be less than) any monies which may have been payable under the content licensing agreement.  

2.2 Appearance fees will be made available to claim via your SWNS.live account following the publication of the feature or broadcast.  

2.3 All payments must be claimed within six months of being added to your SWNS.live account, and will be made by PayPal (to the PayPal registered email supplied by you) or by bank transfer to UK registered banks only (to the bank account number and sort code provided by you).  Any payment not claimed in the timescale set out in this Clause may be forfeit.   

2.4 SWNS will use reasonable efforts to provide you with details of any sales of the Contributed Content when processing any payments due to you via its SWNS.live platform. SWNS cannot provide copies of invoices raised by SWNS for any Contributed Content.  

2.5 You acknowledge that publication of Contributed Content on SWNS’s owned, operated and/or controlled channels, including but not limited to, Yahoo, Daily Motion, MSN, nationaldailypress.com, and including without limitation social media and SWNS agents’ e-commerce websites (SWNS Channels) is for promotion and marketing purposes, and to generate future sales.  You agree that no payment is due to you in respect to such use.

3. Privacy
